This was a mix of business partners offering skills in the business and risk consulting, venture capital, strategic marketing and advertising fields, that included consulting to Private Equity partners and managing the sale of GlenRand MIB to AON (R550m transaction). I initially started my role at Alexander Forbes Risk Services (now MARSH) in South Africa, where I was responsible for the strategic direction of the Retail and Wholesale business focusing on differentiation in a highly competitive environment. This was both from a product and solutions perspective.National responsibility for the Marketing function primarily focusing on the building of the brand, customer retention, new business growth and R&D into customer behaviour leading to new product development. This later extended to an International role when I was moved to the London office.In London I was responsible for the team handling major Global clients and UK based major corporates, designing customer retention strategies for these clients as well as developing alternative channels to market for the services we offered.I was also responsible for the specialist consulting business units focusing on developing unique alternative solutions to traditional problems.
