Hello! My name is Gavin Sicard. I am an associate analyst in the Dr. Hal Singer Practice Group of Econ One Research. As an associate analyst, I help analyze data and other legal materials to assist in developing expert economic testimony and models calculating the economic harms caused by illegal firm conduct. This past May, I graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Economics. I was very proud to graduate Magna Cum Laude, and my 3.98 GPA attests that I have a deeply engrained work ethic and can balance the sizeable workload associated with a double degree. My combination of degrees has provided me with plenty of experience in overcoming the complex, frustrating data problems of today's world. It is what has allowed me to excel in my current role as well as in my prior roles with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns and U.S. Senator Peter Welch's office. While at UVM, I competed three times at the European Union Consulate's Schuman Challenge (an international relations competition focused on increasing US-EU collaboration); I led UVM's first post-covid team to a semi-finalist finish at the 2023 Fed Challenge; my four-person team won the Vanderbilt Dialogue on Democracy in 2022; and my dedication to the UVM's Debate Union has led me to numerous finalist positions and has won me one first-place finish. These experiences have made me a rhetorically confident speaker who can quickly respond to and adapt to criticism. Most importantly, these competitions have extensively developed my ability to research and develop novel, compelling solutions to complex problems.
