Technical EducatorGovernment High School Jan 2021 - Dec 2022Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, South AfricaHaving retired at 55 this 2-year opportunity has been so rewarding. I previously enjoyed 8 years within the Technical Training environment around 18 years ago. Honestly, sharing the machine shop and classroom with tomorrow's technicians and Engineers has been fantastic. Showing young people the finer aspects of Mechanical technology gave me a reason to spring out of bed each day. Knowing that I taught them how to catch fish and that they can now feed themselves is a BIG PLUS for me. Witnessing them spread their wings and fly is wonderful. Nothing beat observing them open their own successful enterprises blows me away. Teaching gives me HUGE job satisfaction knowing that I got the chance to be part of their life story. Born to Teach :-)

Production EngineerMahle Nov 2004 - Apr 2020Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, South AfricaHonoured to have spent many years at this fantastic Company with great Management. Their suggestion program really pays out well. Being presented with a R50 000 cheque for my successful internal changes to the original German high speed tooling was HUGE. Saving the Company around the 1.2 million rand mark.Another highlite was Upgrading the automated spray plant to the latest German Spray Technology. Finished product running on waterbased paint. As Press-expert during my early stages I enjoyed overseeing diverse types of machinery, such as Rolling mills, to high speed turbulator presses. Another really great highlite was being appointed as the unofficial tour guide for overseas guests. I had the honour of getting them into the African bush to sight see, see wildlife and braai at the waterfall. Such great times as "Mr Safari" Highest pub in Africa and www.gwahumbe.co.za being the most frequented destinations :-) -
