Lead application development efforts to enhance performance of solutions used (primarily) in automotive applications; including structural adhesives, elastomeric adhesives & sealants, and structural & acoustic foams.

Technical focal point and project lead for design, development, validation and delivery of prototype water filtration system. Coordinated efforts of global team spanning multiple disciplines—R&D, TS&D, commercial, manufacturing, and external partners.

Responsible for application development and material characterization for products utilized in automotive applications; including engineering thermoplastics, foams, and adhesives. Developed non-standard, component-level testing capabilities to evaluate application performance. Utilized empirical models to link material properties to application performance and enhance solutions by optimizing part design and/or material behavior. Provided key technical contributions to the development and commercialization of IMPAXX Energy Absorbing, which received several external awards, including R&D 100 Award as on of the most technologically significant products of 2007.

Responsibilities included injection molding of test specimens and developmental parts. Injection molding expertise provided opportunity to represent Dow Automotive on-site TS&D support for Delphi Automotive Systems during launch of the GMT-800 truck. Performed high speed component-level head impact tests in accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 201U, and leveraged design of experiments (DOE) statistical analysis of results to optimize energy absorbing solutions for automotive headliner applications.
