For me picking Sales and Business Marketing was an easy decision. Working jobs that had little communication between employees and customers always felt brutal. I knew early on that it wasn't my calling. I enjoy talking to people and adapting the conversation to fit with their individual personality. Not to mention, I find commission-based jobs more rewarding than a salary or hourly rate.Attending Western Michigan University turned out to be the best decision I ever made, allowing me to meet lots of people, create relationships, network, develop positive characteristics, and set priorities for my future.Although I have no direct selling experience, I did have an internship with Convergint over the summer. Working in the Healthcare Security Division, I installed infant security, asset management and staff duress equipment in hospitals. This job also required me to keep good relations with ER & delivery room staff. I would also have to ask frequent questions about room locations and the status of those rooms.
