I was approached by the CEO of a Portfolio Management Software company who had devised a CvaR algorithmic trading strategy which was looking to be launched into the pension market, IFA's have been struggling to justify switches based on cost alone and the ability for a DFM to offer Controlled Variance at Risk portfolios along the lines of Scalable Capital gave this option more stability. At PSC it was my role to sell the model and work with all of the regulated and non-regulated counterparts ranging from SIPP providers, to Execution venues, Discretionary Fund Managers, IFA's. I managed to source better SIPP pricing, better ETF purchasing and lower costs for execution venues, better liquidity in FX and devise a compliant structure from a pension review through to a pension switch. This was successfully launched in January 2018 and I retain equity in the business.
