The project was self performed for project management, procurement, construction and commissioning with only engineering subcontracted.

• Seconded to Koniambo Nickel SAS (KNS), a joint venture between Xstrata Nickel and SMSP, and responsible for overall business management of the Koniambo Nickel Project ($5B USD) reporting to the KNS President and Xstrata Nickel CEO.• The project consisted of execution of over 62m effort hours globally, including almost 15m hours in South East Asian centers.• Project accomplishments included:• China modularization and preassembly facilities and over 80% of goods procured in Asia;• Managed complex social and political site execution with minimal work impacts;• Improved safety performance by 85% over a three year period;• Managed a EPCM in joint venture and integrated team worth $1B USD; and • Successfully delivered over $1B USD of goods to site including extensive Asian sourced materials and managed over $1.9B of site contracts.

Worked as the owners Project Director for Kabanga Nickel (Tanzania) mine during its Prefeasibiility study.In September of 2008 I was transfered to the Koniambo ferronickel smelter as Home Office Director in Kuala Lumpur overseeing engineering, procurement, contract awards and modularisation program in China exeucted by the EPCM. The project had been underway for a year at this stage and facing some execution challenges.I also participated in a two year global executive development program for Xstrata PLC for near term General Managers.

Started with Fluor as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer and progressed through to a Project Manager. During this time I worked on studies through to commissioning of projects in Australia, Indonesia, Canada, United Kingdom and UAE. The projects were mainly in Mining, but did include a lump sum gas project in the UAE. In adiditon to the typical 'engineer to project management' career path I was part of a globl executive development program in Fluor and gained exposure to strategic sourcing, sales and general management areas.Area Manager - Habshan Gas Complex Expansion Project – Package 1Responsible for Home Office (offiste) execution and construction interfaces for the Gas Processing facility at the Habshan Gas Complex in Abu Dhabi, a lump sum, turn key project with an overall value of $1B USD. Commissioning & Startup Engineering Manager, Area Construction Manager, Area Project Manager - Muskeg River Oil Sands Project, Albian Sands, Fort McMurray, Alberta, CanadaThe total installed cost for the area was $180 MM (CDN).Managed over 40 multi-discipline engineers and designers in a commissioning and startup support phase of the project, supporting Albian Sands Operations. As Area Project Manager, managed the completion of engineering design phase of the 14,000 tph Ore Preparation Area as part of the Muskeg River Contractors JV. Took responsibility for the closeout of engineering at 75% completion and construction at 40% from the home office.Responsible for successful and safe management of direct construction workforce for Ore Preparation Area. Workforce peaked at 500 direct field labour and 20 supervision and field engineering staff with over 1 million direct construction manhours. Accountable for the on time execution of the construction for the area from 50% completion. The area commenced the client’s commissioning plan on schedule.
