Hi, my name is Gavin Rose. I am a sophomore studying finance at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.During my first year, I joined the Real Estate Club and the Banking and Trading Association, and this school year, I joined the Restructuring and Distressed Investing Club. Engaging with peers, club leaders, and industry professionals has improved my ability to collaborate effectively, think critically, and navigate business dealings. These interactions have deepened my passion for business and the financial world.In my sophomore year, the faculty of the business computer department selected me to become a peer tutor for The Computer in Business (BUS-K 201). As a peer tutor, I have had the privilege of helping students master Microsoft Access and Excel. Additionally, I joined the Kelley-to-Kelley Mentoring Program as a peer mentor. In this role, I support first-year business students adjusting to college while advising them on particular clubs, classes, and School programs. I am also a peer mentor for Indiana University’s Mentor Collective, which allows me to work with students across specific schools. Through peer tutoring and mentoring, I have honed my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.As I continue to explore career opportunities in the financial services industry, I am eager to network with industry professionals to expand my knowledge of potential roles and companies. I am dedicated to developing my financial forecasting, planning, and leadership skills to make informed decisions and provide insightful financial analysis and perspectives.
