Yavi's mission was to become the daily communications tool of choice for scheduled workers across retail, hospitality, food & beverage and care. We automatically imported existing workplace schedules from a photo snapped on mobile and embedded it in a conversational UI that streamlined all of the team’s daily communication. The app was downloaded over 20,000 times and loved by teams from hundreds of globally recognised high-street brands. Ultimately we learned that the commercial model was unsustainable so chose to shelve opportunity and instead licensed the realtime chat technology we'd created.

After FanDuel’s acquisition of Kotikan my primary focus was on the successful integration of the Kotikan and FanDuel teams. Beyond that as part of the Product Development leadership team I worked closely with CPO and CTO to enhance the delivery culture of a rapidly expanding software development organisation.

Over 7 years Kotikan grew to become Scotland's largest mobile app development agency of the time - reaching 60 staff, a turnover of £2.4 million and EBITDA of £570k. With a team united by a passion for creating mobile products loved by millions, Kotikan were behind award winning apps for organisations such as Skyscanner, FanDuel, Standard Life and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
