About Gavin Feiger

Gavin, as amember of the League’s advocacy team, implements targeted campaigns and programs to help protect, restore and advocate for the health of the Lake Tahoe Basin. He conducts environmental analysis and research, and assists with federal, state and local advocacy. Gavin is responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of applicable planning policy within the greater Lake Tahoe region, with an emphasis on land use and transportation planning.Gavin brings a decade of experience in environmental science, policy, planning, and advocacy with nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining the League’s staff, he managed monitoring and restoration programs for the Alpine Watershed Group, worked for the Sierra Nevada Alliance providing support to conservation groups across the Sierra Nevada to implement strong natural resource plans and policy, and advocated for federal climate change policy in Washington, D.C. for the Pew Charitable Trusts. Gavin obtained his Master of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his B.S. in Geology from the University of Washington. He joined the League’s staff in 2018.When not working, Gavin spends much of his time advocating for bicycle and pedestrian accessibility and safety and enjoying all of the outdoor recreation opportunities the Sierra has to offer.
