Provision of Project and Process Management services to industry - For the past thirteen years, I have been a contract project manager and director of my own project management consultancy here in New Zealand. In New Zealand, I have worked in both the public and private sector with clients in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. As you will read below, I have experience in the financial and insurance industry, the health and disability sector, the core public service, as well as the electricity and innovation sectors.

I was brought in to assist with the delivery of the 2020 General Election and Referendums. During this time I successfully managed:EasyVote, the provision of critical voting information sent to enrolled voters. The project included the design, production and delivery of postal media. This time critical project, involving many stakeholders and suppliers, and was successfully delivered to the majority of enrolled voters prior to the start of Advanced Voting.Postal Voting Packs, the Covid-19 pandemic meant a new postal voting service was required. I was responsible for the creation of new postal voting packs and processes to ensure they could be returned via the post, or dropped of at a voting place, so they could be successfully counted at the 72 electorate headquarters. This project met the high standards required for postal voting and legislative requirements. eRoll, a mobile phone application providing access to elector information at voting places.

Project Managing the Kaikoura event close out. I was responsible for working with the eight insurers who acted as the Crown’s agents in the Kaikoura event. My role started out ensuring that all information, including the private and confidential information of claimants, was moved back to EQC. In the course of this work, my role also expanded to include being the liaison between the various insurers and EQC, working on transitions all claim management from the private to the public sector. This work involved working as a bridge between vendors, business users and the IT department to ensure any new and improved systems would meet ongoing business needs.Project Managing the transfer of information, on the Canterbury Home Repair Program, from Fletcher Building to the Crown, including technical advice on the migration of data. This included development of a data solution using Qlik Sense and a document solution using OnBase. Following this the movement of data, documents and associated IT systems for management of the home repairs back to EQC.

In this project I managed the migration of back-end applications, data and critical clinical applications from obsolete Windows 2003 servers and SQL databases platforms. The critical applications included pharmacy, payroll, pacemaker and clinical portal systems.

Phase 1: Aug 2009 to March 2010Phase 2: Jan 2011 to October 2011This project involved the automation of the back office process for a New Zealand Government Regulation Authority. The back bone of the system was a Customer Relationship Management (CMR) application, which was modified to allow licensing Workflow. As part of the implementation the vendor was managed, hardware environments were set up, user acceptance testing competed, users trained and expectations managed. The application roll out included significant data migration and integration into the Authorities published web site.

This project involved the creation of an interface between Public Trust and selected high street banks for the integration of Term Deposit services including: approval of the project; creation of requirements and associated tender documentation and RFP.

Implementation of changes within the operation of the building compliance and licensing services department.

• Global Reconciliation Project – Upgrade of Meridian’s core back office including changes to the call centre; meter reading; customer billing; electricity usage & estimation; and data warehousing ready for the updated electricity market of 2008. • Billing Project – Update of the Gentrack Billing system• ITIL Transitional Project - Implementation of software release and configuration management processe; new customer web portal and IT Services Catalogue.• Document Management Project – IT Project Manager for the evaluation of EDRMS solutions and associated infrastructure.

“End to End” management responsibility for product developments of software, embedded hardware and roadside products. This position also involved close liaison with manufacturers (both internal and external), purchasing, product marketing, customer services, sales and product distributors.

As the manager for the Embedded Systems team I was responsible for 8 Development Engineers. Most developments involved new and improved power system control and management.

Management of projects of specialist communications and surveillance equipment for the armed forces. This involved the procurement of new microwave & fiber networks.

Procurement and in-service support of the specialist signals equipment on the Nimrod-R aircraft. This included operational role equipment, ground analysis sites, calibration sites, etc.
