Gavin is a Director at Hames Sharley. Prior to that he was Warren and Mahoney’s managing principal in Australia and a shareholding principal with Woods Bagot for 17 years. He has more than 25 years experience in the design and delivery of major mixed use, urban and civic projects. His skills range from city wide strategic design through to the design and delivery of major civic architecture. Gavin led the AUD $397million Adelaide Convention Centre Redevelopment (Woods Bagot) and was joint project director for the NZ$500m New Zealand International Convention Centre. (Woods Bagot and Warren and Mahoney) He has also advised the NSW government on the $2b Sydney convention Centre redevelopment at Darling Harbour. He has led teams and played key roles on city defining projects such as the Adelaide Riverbank master plan, the Christchurch Earthquake blueprint (winner of WAN award for urban design) the Bay's precinct masterplan in Sydney, CoEx Dubai and the Vancouver East Lands master plan. He led the master plan and architectural team on the award wining Tonsley redevelopment (Woods Bagot) which won the 2016 World Architecture News(WAN) award for adaptive reuse . He was also part of the Woods Bagot design team for the highly awarded SAHMRI building in Adelaide, Australia.Gavin has national and international experience as a designer and urban planner in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Christchurch, Auckland, Dubai, Vancouver, Canberra, London and Wellington. Most recently he has been working on the Adelaide Airport masterplan, the Ryde central redevelopment in Sydney and the Forestville mixed use development inAdelaide.
