Gavin is one of the two local General Partners of Wavemaker Partners SEA. Gavin was a 2nd-generation entrepreneur who managed manufacturing, advertising, partnerships and logistics functions for his bedding products family business. He started his career in venture with Matrix Partners China and Infocomm Investments, a Singapore government (IDA) agency-related venture fund. Gavin helped bring in the fund’s first institutional investors while managing all aspects of the fund’s investments. Gavin built the investment team and functions at Wavemaker from scratch, introducing and improving institutional practices and investment outcomes for the funds under management. Gavin has led or participated in more than 150 investments including the firm’s investments in Wavecell, eFishery, Fasal, Shield, and OY!. Gavin graduated with a BA in Financial Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York and is undertaking an Executive MBA in Finance at Tsinghua University.
