Gavin has over 35 years' experience in the fields of Civil Engineering Contracting and Business Management and Leadership.He is a clear and articulate communicator and has proven himself to be an effective, collaborative and influential member of the teams he has led and worked with. He has a keen attention to detail and is very responsive to commercial risks and opportunities, capably evaluating complex situations and articulating these with detailed and considered solutions.He has led diverse, multi-faceted businesses with turnover scaling to ~$400M and staff complements of ~900 employees. His back-to-basics business approach focused on customer centric business growth and development, strategy and structure, enhanced staff engagement and professional delivery of quality projects. He is currently the Deputy Chair of Mates in Construction (NZ) and has held Board roles with Rodney Aggregates Supplies (2016 - 2020) and the Omega Group (2000 -2007) (SA). He is a current member of the Institute of Directors (NZ).He previously served as a Contract Board Member on the West Waikato North Network Outcomes Contract in the Waikato for the New Zealand Transport Agency. He has previously served as the Branch Chair of the Civil Contractors New Zealand (CCNZ) Bay of Plenty Branch and member of the CCNZ Auckland Branch Committee.Under his leadership, the Fulton Hogan Bay of Plenty Region were awarded the prestigious Westpac Tauranga Business of the Year award in 2015. They also received the awards for Manufacturing and Logistics, Workplace Health and Safety, Sustainability and Customer Service. In 2016, Gavin was appointed to the judging panel for the Westpac Tauranga Business Awards.
