During this internship, I have taken on a lead role in several projects throughout the Department. I give presentations about federal organizations that aim to better represent marginalized groups, such as Make Us Visible and Federally Employed Women. On the Budget Service side, I created and update the Department’s database of the schools and organizations that request the Department for federal grants. I provide insight and take notes on meetings within the Department for those who are unable to attend. Additionally, I present to my colleagues recently introduced bills that have significant implications for federal employees, such as Senate Bill 4834, the Federal Employee return to work act. This internship has given me firsthand experience working in a government role, as well as boosted my communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

I have taught mathematical concepts to over one hundred K-12 students, often three or four at a time. I have taught in-person and online via Zoom meetings and have become very comfortable with encouraging development in mathematics skills using both direct teaching and Socratic questioning.

I executed crucial functions of the club, namely coordinating inter-office communication between the honor society and the University of Florida, managing the budget, determining expenses for the club, and providing program planning to support general body meetings.

During my internship with the Better Business Bureau of West Florida, I helped complete various tasks of the organization. Primarily, I created and updated the records for all businesses located in West Florida. I also managed customer complaints that were sent to businesses and helped resolve the disputes. Additionally, I updated the Scam Tracker daily, where I reviewed incoming scam reports to clarify scams from legitimate businesses.
