Automation support for the developers of a container security product. K8s, OpenShift, E2e tests, CI.

Built an automation framework for Cohesity manufacturing using ReactJS for the frontend and Python for the backend. And lets not forget Ansible to configure servers and services.

All the bits for a web frontend to a system to manage millions of devices. React, immutable, Enzyme.

At Defend7 our aim was to simplify securing the network at the application level. I focused on the web interface to convey the state of the network and the policy for enforcing traffic rights within that network. As well as various views for configuration and reporting.We had a single page app in React with D3 for graphing and Bootstrap/Less for styling. Which communicated with a RESTful API written in GO.

Developed automation for all aspects of Nimble's manufacturing process. Using Python, Django & Bootstrap.

Refactored and improved manufacturing test and configuration.

Developed a facility to automate the construction of ad-hoc system groups for testing BlueData software. Two favorite tools: Bootstrap for an easy front end and Python for heavy lifting.

Designed, maintained and supported Riverbeds production manufacturing test and configuration systems. These are built on a framework of open source tools (LAMP – linux, apache, mysql, perl/python), low cost components and an automated devOps methodology. This design makes it scalable over 12 sites worldwide and requires only a few engineers to support it. Directly managed a group of 3 engineers and indirectly managed a worldwide team of 20+ personnel.Rolled out multiple new product lines through development and on to end of life. Managed full cycle defect analysis and test improvements to iteratively improve the quality of appliances shipped. Monitored test results to identify defects in product and test and worked with others to drive to resolution.

Refactoring, extending and managing a high volume web application

As one of the first QA engineers at Riverbed I developed automation as the principal approach to software reliability through continuous integration test suites.

Responsible for QA of an SMS messaging system written in PERL over Oracle. Analysed, designed and implemented an automated test framework and regression test suites in object oriented PERL. Designed and built a performance measurement system to determine baseline figures and comparison over releases. Profiled the code and removed performance bottlenecks. Created end to end test system using GSM modems and phones. Built SMPP code to connect to third party gateways.

Remote Access products development team. MAX/TNT family. Designed and implemented customer requested features. Investigated and resolved defects in all aspects of product functionality. Focused somewhat on packet analysis, memory corruption, memory leakage or race conditions. Gained an in-depth understanding of all components in a multi processor remote access product from device drivers through telephony and network protocols, IPC and RTOS issues.Conceived, designed and implemented an automated test framework in object oriented PERL. Instigated a developer information base for searching code, specifications and email lists using freely available open source software: apache, procmail, mhonarc, glimpse and htdig.

Worked in the network products development team. The Retix network devices were multi processor embedded systems running pSOS on both proprietary i960 and off the shelf x86 PC platforms. The software for which was written in both C and i960/x86 assembly.Designed, implemented and maintained an X.400 based email system.
