My experience with working with film began during the summer leading up to starting my first year of college. I worked with an inspiring young director Allison Walsh on a mini-documentary for a local company called Morton Industries.This experience led me to pursue a career in film production with myself starting out as a video intern at my local community college, Illinois Central College for Harbinger Student Media. Over my first year there, I found myself promoted to Head Video Editor in the span of a semester. It was this job which helped me land a part-time job working as a film production assistant at my local PBS Station, WTVP.During the course of my summer, I worked with many knowledgeable creatives at the WTVP station who helped me build my skills. These skills consisted of operating a camera during talk shows in a hyperactive live setting, operating a soundboard during a live setting as well, and working on helping prep interviews on an on-location shoot.Ultimately, these experiences landed me a spot at the University of Illinois as a Media and Cinema Studies Major where I'm planning on finishing out my bachelor's in two years' time. It is here where I'm finding myself involved with different student organizations such as Illini Film and Video, The Daily Illini, and August Productions that involve various elements of the filmmaking process as a whole. I find myself feeling more passionate and hardworking with every day that passes because I know that this is the path that I want to pursue.
