Hi, my name is Gavin Smith. I was born and raised in Elkhart, IN. Currently, I am studying finance and real estate as a junior at the Kelley School of Business. Ever since I was about twelve years old I would do remodeling projects around the house with my dad. We bought our grandparent’s outdated home and completely gutted and remodeled it, while still keeping an eye on our budget. I loved the way that we could make things look brand new which is what sparked my interest in business and real estate. Since then, I have found that I enjoy taking on challenges because I am a dedicated person. My leadership and dedication skills are shown as I was captain of the basketball and tennis teams. I was the recipient of the AP Scholar award and salutatorian in my class of 450 students. As a student at IU, I am constantly faced with challenges that provide me with opportunities to grow as a student and as a person. In the next chapter of my life, I'm looking for a rewarding career that offers opportunities to grow and become a leader in the business world.
