Participate in evidence based clinical practice development for Ambulance Victoria, develop the Clinical Practice Guidelines, explore new and existing practices through good research practice. Advise and consult on specific clinical issues.

Having driven the Bachelor of Paramedicine degree course restructure and reaccreditation, attracted in excess of $150k in competetive federal government grant funding, and established the Study Tour Program as a solid point of differentiation within the Paramedicine program at VU, it is now time to hand over the reigns. I am proud to have been part of the mentoring and development of some fine examples of the next generation of paramedics, and in having developed some strong international partnerships and friendships along the way (including Magen David Adom, Scottish Ambulance Service, London Ambulance Service, and Montgomery Community Health Department Texas).

Secondment position (2 year tenure with 1 year extension) with a focus on development of pre-hospital research and enhancement of the research culture of the Paramedic Discipline at Victoria University. Key priorities include exploring and developing collaborative research opportunities in Paramedicine, improving post-graduate enrollments by paramedic graduates in the field of research, demonstrating research capabilities through publication and conference presentation by staff and students within the Discipline.A highlight of this role to date has been the successful organisation, grant funding application, conduct and tour leadership of the VU paramedic science study tour program for 3rd year students to Israel in 2014 and 2016, as well as coordinating the tours of Israel in 2015 and London in 2016. The success of these tours contributed to the establishment of an important MoU between our organisations and ongoing interest in this program.This secondment has now concluded as 2016 closes out, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to engage in a senior academic role, clinical research that supports the prehospital field, and most importantly to have been a positive influence on the paramedics of tomorrow.
