Program Director at Found in Translation. Found in Translation is a small non-profit that trains limited-income bilingual women to be medical interpreters. Our program provides solutions to many of the common obstacles that hinder women from moving forward in life: we provide childcare so the women can attend class, job preparedness training and financial tools as well as transportation assistance and mentoring. The training is completely free for the participants and our involvement does not end when they have earned their certificate. We work with them on building their careers as professional interpreters of which our certificate program is just the first step. While acting as Program Director I:*Built and refined a unique medical interpreter training tailored to our participants.*Managed and directed recruitment, selection, yearly scheduling and logistics, space procurement*Identified and recruited teachers and talent to fill programmatic needs*Provided mentorship and support to language coaches and participants*Provided guidance and subject matter expertise to staff on interpreting and translation matters.*Lugged snacks and supplies for on-site childcare
