Well, that was all I needed really, I was hooked. I'm a Senior Recruiter now with the best company I have worked for in years. We have our Marine team, each as lovely and hilarious as the next, and Our RSI team (ROV, Survey, Inspection) who supply and support guys and girls that do all the things that even I consider to be the Dark Arts...ie that I couldn't do if I tried, respect guys. I still work from home, securing our professionals jobs that work for them. What I love about ETPM apart from everyone of my lovely team, is that we are a family orientated business. Welfare of the staff and contractors is paramount. I've had so much support from ETPM with my partners illness, that its been possible to still grow the Survey side of the business and get ETPMs name out there as a supplier of Survey and ROV personnel as well as Marine and subsea inspection. Our professionals are well supported and we are always open with day rates and charge rates which I think shows we are a trustworthy and supportive agency. It's a change I want to see in this industry, show that the agencies aren't there to see the professionals off for money, but be there as a conduit, to bring the professional and the client together to work to benefit both parties. It's a personal mission statement I want to continue with. Our Survey and ROV vacancies have increased throughout 2023, and we are already gearing as we work more closely with new and existing clients in 2024 to support a growing Renewables and resurgent Oil and Gas industry through an uncertain and troublesome time in history. I'm relocating back to Scotland at the end of 2023, but will still be mostly remote, and I look forward to continuing my career and personal development.We look forward to having a chat with you all. Newquay

After applying for a few jobs and getting rejected for being overqualified, I finally got an opportunity with Atlas. I joined in an admin capacity for a 6 month contract, and settled in so well, secured a permanent role. This was the start of my recruitment career. The Newquay office specialized in Hydrographic Survey recruitment, and I joined a team of 2 Account managers, 3 Personnel Coordinators and 2 Admin Ops Support. It was a great team in those early days, good clients and lots of… Show more After applying for a few jobs and getting rejected for being overqualified, I finally got an opportunity with Atlas. I joined in an admin capacity for a 6 month contract, and settled in so well, secured a permanent role. This was the start of my recruitment career. The Newquay office specialized in Hydrographic Survey recruitment, and I joined a team of 2 Account managers, 3 Personnel Coordinators and 2 Admin Ops Support. It was a great team in those early days, good clients and lots of professionals happy to work with us. 2016 was still recovering from the oil slump so there were few jobs, and low day rates. We got through it though, and I made lifelong friends with contractors I speak to to this day. After a couple of years in Admin, I took on an Account Manager role, I have to say I dont think I was prepared for this role, and soon after I was advised to take a Personnel Coordinator role. This one was in my wheel house as I prefer talking and supporting the contractors, as I was one, than negotiating with the clients and getting bogged down in paperwork and taxes. I really enjoyed learning the industry, knowing what everyone does offshore, the different software and equipment, and projects. I formed lasting connections with clients and professionals alike, and gained knowledge and experience of the industry. 2018 was a turning point, the industry exploded and got increasingly busy, new professional contacts, new clients, all racing ahead.... then, 2020. The pandemic hit the industry hard as we all adjusted to a new normal, I was now working from home as I had to shield, but guess what, it worked. I found myself working even better from home without the distractions around me, and with technology what it is, being able to maintain contact with my colleagues as well as clients and professionals. After a not so successful period working as a Freelance Radio Op in a downturned offshore industry, I found it difficult to make ends meet. I had ploughed through my savings just trying to keep the lights on, and the only people hiring were Supermarkets. I took a chance with Tesco, as its my local shop I do all of my shopping at. I did nightshift work throughout a busy store with secondments to Newquay at the time of a festival. I didnt really enjoy it, and found myself in pain a lot and low self esteem with Supervisors 20 years my junior criticising the speed at which I was stacking shelves. But it helped make ends meet especially as my savings had evaporated. I just needed something more office based I could use my intellect in, and this wasnt it, but good on Tesco, they kept me afloat. I finally got the call from Northern, who after seeing my CV from OMS (Now Atlas) took a chance and hired me direct as staff. I joined as a Radio Operator, which was more of a Rig administrator job. My day consisted of controlling the Permit to Work System, confined space entry and isolations, monitoring the rigs fire and Gas emergency system, controlling entry and exit of offshore supply vessels, organising helicopter transfers and controlling accommodation assignments. Generally being the place to go to for anything. I loved this job, it was well paid, I had the best crew with the best food, and I got fit! It was a wonderful rig, and a wonderful company to work for. I really lucked in with my OIMs as well, so that was a bonus. After time offshore Norfolk and Denmark, unfortunately the oil slump happened in 2015, and regrettably the vessel lost its contract with Maersk due to cuts and the rig was paid off. I joined initially as an Operator Mechanic (Above Water Warfare), in laymans terms, I fired the guns and manned the radar plot in the Operations room. I was a specially selected OM, so was fast tracked on my first ship HMS London, and spent only a year there before going on a promotion course before joining HMS Brave and HMS Chatham. A couple of deployments before branch changing to Aircraft controller and being promoted again. This was a great job, I got to work with helicopters, Lynx and Merlin as well as fixed wing aircraft like the P3 Orion and ubiquitous Nimrod. I had a great experience in the Navy, I travelled as far as New Zealand in the Pacific, and Mexico in the Atlantic. Many great visits and many great adventures. I had 2 or 3 conflicts but the rest were just great deployments, especially on my favourite ship HMS Marlborough. I would say, this was the best experience of my life, I met my partner there, I became more confident and outgoing, and I made firm friends for life and a bond with all ex serving and serving military personnel, which I'm proud of to this day. Unfortunately, life has its own plan, and after a fall from a helicopter fast roping onto a deck of a Spanish ship, I developed Arthritis and Asthma, and was tragically Medically discharged from her Majesties Royal Navy. The bingo hall was three doors down from my rented room, so it was perfect, I was pre-armed with bar experience, so aced the interview. The manager was a lovely guy and wanted me to get on the management programme, I did start that, but after visiting the Armed Forces Career centre, I didnt want to commit in case I was accepted. I was quite popular there, but the armed forces application had gone well. I had gone in to join the RAF, but a smooth talking sailor convinced me I'd see more of the world in the Navy, he'd be proved to have been right. Now as part of Uni life, its expensive so I had to take a part time job at a new Brewers Fayre called the Loch Leven in Drumchapel, Glasgow. That was an experience, waiting and Bar tending was the game, and I proved to be very good at it, so much so the manager and his lovely girlfriend invited me to come with them to Perth and then Aberdeen (Mill of Mundurno). I was about to start Uni on a Computer programming and Data Systems Analysis degree so this was the perfect job to hone my skills. It was first 'grown up' job, so I went to town, shirt, tie, MASSIVE shoulder padded blazer and a briefcase (I swear, I still own that briefcase!). Not much to say about this role, it was my first and only manufacturing job. The firm made Lampshade frames. I remember burning myself on a daily basis. Pure monotony but at least I got to work wearing my walkman blasting out Metallicas Master of Puppets and 'And Justice for all albums. It was round about then I decided to move up to Scotland with my mum, having spent a year with my increasingly intolerant father after my mum left him. It was to be the last job I would have in Sussex.

16 years old, and now I hit the big time. This was the big show. A lovely little Western themed Theme park on East Sussexes coast. Lovely in the sun, abysmal in the rain and wind. I got to drive the miniature train, operate the "rollercoaster" (lol, more thrills on the ladybug roundabout), several rotating rides for the smaller kids, and the best of all, dress up in a bear costume. Met lots of teenage girls there as well so that job was Awesome!! It was seasonal though so had to look for more… Show more 16 years old, and now I hit the big time. This was the big show. Just a summer job really, it was a good experience, but I still hadnt had my Growth spurt, so stacking on middle and bottom shelves only. Still gave about £15 a week so I was rolling in it. Penny sweets and NFL Sticker albums all round.
