Cost Competitiveness Team; Delivered on numerous cost saving ideas for fixed operating costs of the assembly plant with a value of over $0.6million per annum. There were many other ideas investigated that were not deemed as a viable cost saving idea and various bench marking studies completed.Launch Implementation Coordinator; Ensuring the prototype vehicles were built correctly and all the issues from the build process were logged and passed to the appropriate engineers for trim line 1 to trim line 4. Developed a detailed prototype vehicle build timing plan, coordination of engineering trials, plant operator training on the new processes and reporting to management the progress of issue resolution.Core Engineer; Responsible for ensuring that the Product Development engineers were introducing capable processes into the vehicle assembly plant using 6 sigma tools, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (P.F.M.E.A.’s), warranty data and future model improvements. This permitted me to have a large influence on the design process of the components that I was responsible for, which included the curtain air bag, crash sensors, the audio system, door wiring harness, jack and tools and reverse sensors (including the camera).

Successfully achieved this by implementing an automated system that clearly showed the assembly teams performance in real time and what their target production volume should be. Improved equipment reliability through root cause analysis as one machine kept having failures which reduced production volume. Through consultation with the production team changed the assembly line layout which minimised product change-over times. Coordinated pilot builds of fuel tanks and fuel vapour canisters.Controls engineer; 2002-2003 Contracted to and successfully commissioned and debugged new assembly line equipment to build fuel tank for Ford BA Falcon vehicles. Completed many equipment improvements including overseeing the major upgrade of one machines PLC as its I/O and computing capacity had been reached.
