With nearly two decades of experience in strategy, capacity building, advocacy, and community mobilization, I've dedicated my career to promoting gender and sexual rights. In 2004, I pioneered the co-founding of Helem, the first LGBTIQ+ organization in Lebanon. Seven years later, I established the first sexual health clinic in the region, Marsa.One of my proudest achievements is the founding of the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality (AFE) in 2009. AFE is a regional sexual rights organization designed to defend and amplify the voices of the LGBTIQ+ community in the MENA region. Under my leadership, AFE grew to be the largest and sole regional organization of its kind, actively promoting sexual rights and combating discrimination.In partnership with NGOs across the global south, I've also designed and delivered capacity building trainings to foster growth in gender and sexual rights. My ongoing work with The World Bank continues to reinforce my commitment to inclusive stakeholder engagement, strategic development, and opportunities for SOGI inclusion within the MENA portfolio.Currently, I am involved in several sexual health initiatives in Spain and have authored research on CHEMSEX in the world, focusing on drugs, mental health, and HIV. In addition to other publications listen in my CV.In the future, I aim to not only continue expanding the reach of advocacy for sexual rights, fostering growth, and challenging discrimination wherever it is found, but also to focus on enhancing diversity and inclusion initiatives in all facets of my work, ensuring that every voice is heard, respected, and considered.As I carry forward in my career, my passion for this work only grows stronger, fueled by the inspiring change I see in the organizations I have had the privilege to lead, and the profound impact on the communities we serve.
