I led the UK Quality Assurance team (Manger/Sr. Manager/Associate Director) for Illumina Laboratory Services UK providing whole genome sequencing services for the NHS Genomics Medicine Service and Genomics England. Prior to this we completed the whole genome sequencing service for the UK 100,000 genome project. I recruited and developed a team of QA managers and engineers to manage the implementation and compliance to ISO 15189 and ISO 13485 in two medical sequencing laboratories. We developed the world’s first ISO 15189 compliant QMS for population scale whole genome sequencing.As a member of Illumina Laboratory Services leadership team I was responsible for three years of rapid growth taking the organisation from 10 to more than 50 staff which included recruiting, managing and developing a quality assurance team across multiple sites.
