  • Auctane
    Senior Product Designer
    Auctane Jan 2023 - Mar 2024
    Austin, Texas, Us
I led an effort in revitalizing design for Stamps.com & Endicia’s suite of web, desktop (Win/Mac), and mobile apps for shipping and mailing solutions. Released a significantly improved, more complete Stamps.com mobile app, utilizing iterative design process and continuous deployment to address customer needs, resulting in a jump to a 4+ star rating in app stores.
  • Auctane
    Senior Product Designer
    Auctane Aug 2020 - Mar 2023
    Austin, Texas, Us
As Product Design Lead for ShipStation—Auctane’s industry-leading shipping solution—I managed and led a small team of Product and Web Designers while also delivering design as an individual contributor. I helped move the entire product design organization to Figma, provided insight and direction in design systems, and acted as a driver for accessible design and development practices, engaging and igniting a passion for accessibility in the engineering teams.
  • Bazaarvoice
    Senior User Experience Designer
    Bazaarvoice Jul 2015 - Jun 2020
    Austin, Texas, Us
In my time at Bazaarvoice, I:• Led the Aperture Design System for 3 years. I documented, designed, and administrated BV's new design language, Aperture. I managed, documented, and incorporated my and other UXers' work into repeatable patterns for this design system. I created robust, flexible Sketch libraries and templates to expedite the design deliverables of my UX team, resulting in efficiency gains and improved documentation among UX designers without visual design skills.• Moved our new client-facing tools platform, Portal, from a rough technical concept into a flexible home for all BV apps, experienced in a consistent manner—leveraging Aperture components written in React—and with a single point of authentication. Advocated for this single platform and experience as a standard among all new and continuing client-facing development, which became an R&D standard in Fall 2017.• Acted as an accessibility advocate among the UX team and all of R&D. Worked to instill an a11y-first design attitude, and with our design system, tested and hardened our patterns to focus on WCAG AA compliance from a design perspective, and advocated that engineering contributors follow accessibility best practices.• Trained in Service Design principles and methods with Adaptive Path, and with my fellow Sr UX Designers began to these concepts into our work, helping pull design earlier into discussion and open the planning conversations to a holistic, service-wide perspective, using ecosystem mapping, service blueprints, experience maps and more.• Designed, tested, and released the first UI-based product catalog management tool in Bazaarvoice's history.• Helped plan and build an entirely new product, Brand Edge, from initial concepts through to the first credit card swipes from SMB brands.
  • Amazon
    Ux Designer, Amazonlocal
    Amazon Jan 2012 - Feb 2015
    Seattle, Wa, Us
TeachStreet was acquired by Amazon in Jan 2012 for our expertise in the local business space. At Local, I owned Merchant UX, advancing Local’s merchant tools from a simple deal lookup page to an extensible web and app platform for reporting, order processing and other tools across an expanding set of verticals (deals, gift cards, restaurant takeout and delivery, appointment booking, etc). I maintained a design pattern and platform architecture library, reviewed work for teams (in or outside of Local) building local merchant tools, and acted as Local’s reference point for Amazon’s HIG, as well as mobile guidelines for Google Material Design, iOS and FireOS. I performed usability studies, field research, and built various styles of prototypes for web and app designs. I also designed internal tools to keep account managers and merchants in sync and working together, and contributed to numerous consumer-facing projects in web, mobile web and native app contexts.
  • Teachstreet.Com
    Ux Designer
    Teachstreet.Com Jun 2009 - Jan 2012
    Seattle, Wa, Us
TeachStreet needed a “mythical unicorn”—a designer who could tackle user experience, visual design and build the front end. My role included revamping and improving user flow and pipelines, helping build new features such as online class payments and easing user frustration during a switch from free to a pay structure. I promoted practices and implemented reusable style objects that allowed my team to develop with progressive enhancement, speeding up dev times while producing beautiful results that degrade gracefully for less capable browsers. I refreshed the visual style, designed and implemented subject-specific sub-sites and a white-label project with the San Francisco Chronicle. In late 2010 I helped plan, design and build ServiceAlley.com, a joint-venture with the Washington Post targeting home service providers in the D.C. area. In late 2011, we designed and built a roadtrip planning webapp during a hackweek exercise that garnered attention from the New York Times.
  • Trusera, Inc.
    Ui Designer + Copy
    Trusera, Inc. Nov 2007 - Apr 2009
At Trusera, I helped build our social network for the sharing of health experience. I designed the user interface (from conceptual wireframing to polished final visual designs), illustrated explanatory panels and site iconography, played a large role in writing and editing the user educational copy, helped conduct user testing and feedback, and contributed to the overall information architecture of the network. This design work was done in the fast-paced and exceptionally challenging environment of SCRUM, an agile development process not often well suited for designers.Other roles included the other design aspects of the company, from business cards to the creation of visually deep and appealing investor presentations.
