As the network engineer I am responsible for the Cisco voice and data infrastructure, as well as end-user support. I perform a key role in managing the network infrastructure and voice systems. I am currently building a disaster recovery plan for our server and network infrastructure.

Creating Cisco and other networking content.

I worked part-time at Indian Springs School for over 14 years, and in that time we grew the network from a small, wired Novell NetWare network that served the administrative offices and a handful of dorm rooms, to an all-virtualized network that supports wired and wireless connections over the entire campus. I assisted the Director of Technology in any initiatives that he was presented with, and also assisted in the day-to-day operation of the network, to reduce his workload. In that time, as one would expect, the network grew to support a wide variety of devices across the campus to support the learning needs of the students. We also outsourced the email infrastructure to Google Apps to reduce the need for internal hardware and software resources.

In addition to the technical duties of a network engineer, I was responsible for supervising the IT Service Desk and Network systems, including managing the team member that was responsible for the outsourced predictive dialer system used by the call centers across our footprint. I maintained vendor relationships for telecom and other services as it related to the network infrastructure and support desk positions. I was the company’s SME for Cisco voice (Cisco UCM 10, Cisco Unity Connection 10, and Cisco Unified Call Center Express) and data (routers, switches, and ASA firewall appliances). I also served as the main escalation point for all networking-related issues that were sent from the networking team – supporting not only the Cisco voice/data infrastructure, but also VMWare VSphere 5.5 and our Compellent, EqualLogic, and EMC VNX SANs.While with Adreima (formerly Optimum Outcomes) I have successfully led the IT implementation during our merger and have consolidated our WAN and IT platform across all our offices and business lines.

Work in the Telecom Network Operations Center, ensuring proper functioning of the production network. This department is responsible for maintaining the Cisco VoIP phone system (Cisco CallManager 7.1) in all the branches, and making sure that the network infrastructure equipment that supports the core business functions (Cisco 2800 series routers, Cisco 2900 and 3500 series switches) operates at peak efficiency. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues reported to the operations center by internal and external customers. Support the VPN remote access technologies (Cisco ASA 5540) used by the bank to allow employees and vendors to access bank systems remotely.
