Scarab Funds is a series LLC comprised of positive impact strategies for cash, fixed income, a fund of funds in green real estate, timber, and sustainable agriculture, public equities chosen based on the Natural Step decision tree, and an emerging fund of positive impact funds.

My personal mission is to change the way we think and act with our money, including the oversight of Scarab Funds, a family of impact strategies launched in 2012, but part of my history of impact investing that goes back to the late 1970's. 100% impact means that we are not just looking at the processes of ESG but that we start with products and services that will make an essential contribution to the world. These may be private debt, real assets, private or public equities etc,. There is no financial instrument that cannot be impact oriented. As Chairman I will make sure this standard is kept front and center.

This book traces my own journey out of financial innocence, towards an investment model that supports reasonable returns, long-term economic health, and a healthy future for our planet. There are many books on money and investing, but very few build a bridge from philosophical values to practical understanding and advice. I am the founding CEO and Chairperson of 3Sisters Sustainable Management, Inc a 2019 and 2022 "Best for the World" Benefit Corporation that manages a family of impact strategies called Scarab Funds. When necessary and propitious I may take a Board or Chair position with investees we have funded. Since forming infiniteWorkflow I have been the founding chairperson. This company is an important collaborative strategy to work alongside communities to build a SaaS platform that coordinates social services through holistic and dedicated support.

This was a collaborative platform for transparent social and environmental research. designed to make it easy to find initiatives that are responding to the crisis times we live in, whether for investment, charitable giving, journalism or conscious consumer info.

ASI commercialized its technology with the largest Hispanic Pharmacy chain, Navarro in Florida.The platform could solve workflow inefficiencies in multiple industries starting by solving the issues around the personalizing of healthcare by matching and tracking pharmacists with patients. The patented technology has the capacity to become a tool for disenfranchised workers to take responsibility for themselves, learn new skills and qualify for increasingly difficult and well-paid work online. This system takes the onus of marketing off the shoulders of workers, flowing appropriate work to them on their schedule and at a rate that they choose. This can work in industries where there is a glut of continuous work and a shortage of workers.The patents and insights gained are now incorporated into infiniteWorkflow, an early stage venture commercializing with the United Way in Greensboro NC to coordinate workflow between uninsured individuals and non-profit social agencies to improve healthcare and economic outcomes. Founder of an intentional community surrounding young people who could not advance beyond highschool without help. It continues today with about 100 residents, educating with work and life training and enjoying a vibrant community with meaningful craft work, gardening and biodynamic farming. I started the 80 acre farm with a scythe, pitchfork and my pick-up, and raised the money for the initial woodworking facility and first house.
