I'm a strategy and analysis guy, an all-purpose problem solver. With a PHD in English from Binghamton University and 15+ years in academia, my close reading, analysis, and critical thinking skills have sharpened down to a razor's edge. Put a problem in front of me, give me some parameters within which to work, and I'll come back with with the angles and options most people don't see. Big picture meta-analysis. Granular detail-level work. Everything in between.I'm also a creative guy with an MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of California, Irvine. My short fiction and creative nonfiction have appeared in multiple print literary magazines, and I freelance copywrite for two agencies. I'm just as comfortable writing dense case studies for tech companies as I am delivering whimsical beer label copy for craft brewers. Finally, I'm a leadership guy. An Associate Professor at the University of Memphis since 2016, I design and teach courses in rhetoric/writing, creative writing, and American Literature. There, I have the pleasure of managing diverse student populations and helping them accomplish their academic goals.
