I led a strategic overhaul of the Software Engineering (SWE) and Electrical Engineering (EE) teams, realigning them to foster innovation and efficiency. My leadership was instrumental in redirecting the company’s focus towards autonomy, laying the foundational infrastructure required for autonomous operations. Successfully delivered the V3 program, alongside achieving significant milestones in various defense contracts, marking critical advancements in our technological capabilities.

Lead a team of 200 engineers for on vehicle and cloud infrastructure software of Motional. On vehicle software teams: embedded, systems, sensors and AI acceleration, middleware, high level autonomous libraries, cybersecurity, on board passenger awareness and interactions. Cloud infrastructure: Software Factory, simulation, resimulation, test tooling (SIL and HIL), remote vehicle guidance, third party integration (Lyft and Uber AV integration), fleet management.Next generation compute architecture and micro-architecture: lead the technical design for a scalable, flexible and safe software defined computer architecture for future autonomous vehicles.2021 Key achievements in no specific order:- redefined our development cycle to achieve a continuous integration and delivery from 1 release a month to 1 release a day- overhaul of the middleware, setup the vision for an efficient, extensible and reproducible execution model on vehicle. - integration of a third party to jumpstart and scale manyfold our simulation and resimulation capabilities- bootstrapped an SRE cloud management model- scaling up our testing processes and teams to accelerate development velocity- reset the hiring bar, improved the hiring process, talent retention and density of talent.- setup a fair, impact driven performance calibration review process.

Lead 7 autonomous vehicle onboard teams.Defined and brought up our new compute platform you can see on the road driving autonomously today in our fleet and working on the next generation.Created and staffing 4 new teams. Hired world class talents and kept them at a very low attrition rate. Interfaces with stakeholders: all the autonomy teams, the hardware team and Argo's leadership. Provide support to the business team for technical due diligences and strategic decisions on partnerships.1. Onboard Libraries (ex-Robotics infra below): this team specializes in efficient onboard libraries that are used across all the autonomy teams (ML inference, spatio-temporal indexed structures, CV etc...).2. Onboard Accelerators: this team is responsible for algorithms running on accelerated compute architectures.3. Onboard Code Health: this team is responsible for the tooling and metrics for the code quality of the AV.4. Onboard Runtime: this team works on everything middleware across the heterogeneous system (logger, messages, tasks)5. CAVS: Our redundant safety system6. Created and lead a key onboard autonomy software team with 4 main missions:- define and refine the onboard compute system architecture for the incoming generations of AVs- assist all the onboard autonomy teams (detection, tracking, prediction etc...) with performant and reusable high level software libraries for common algorithmic operations like geometry, point clouds, ML inferences etc.- Provide frameworks to those teams to integrate their algorithms easily and efficiently into the AV heterogeneous compute platforms (image pipeline, lidar pipeline, end to end latency metrics...)- support the onboard teams to port and optimize their algorithms onto hardware accelerators to mean the low latencies required.
