I am a scientist specialising in high-performance computing projects: constructing enormous datasets and analysing them with advanced statistical tools. I love an important and challenging problem; have spent decades seeking insights from data in a wide variety of fields; and am skilled and passionate about communicating what I have gleaned to audiences of all kinds. Throughout my career I have enjoyed success in many disparate fields, having worked on problems as diverse as breast cancer research and cosmology. These projects have involved techniques as varied as laboratory experimentation, image analysis, statistical analysis and numerical simulation. I have an excellent track record of rapidly acquiring the domain knowledge pertinent to new fields of study.Through publications in peer reviewed journals; speaking engagements at international conferences; teaching (to both science and non-science majors); and public outreach activities (including a staring role in an internationally successful IMAX movie), I have developed the skills to communicate complex ideas in both technical and non-technical terms.For the past 9+ years, I have been increasingly focused on the interesting challenges involved in project and program discovery, management and delivery.
