Construction/Maintenance Manager (1992 to 2004)Directed daily activities to support site construction and maintenance operations. Supervised millwrights, iron workers, operating engineers, pipe fitters, millwrights, mechanics, and other staff in daily operations. Reported to upper management on progress and improvement strategies. Site Rigging Engineer (1992 to 2004)Required to review and approve all lift plans for all site rigging activities. This included all internal maintenance activities and 13 construction subcontractors. Developed and implemented complex rigging strategies for loads up to 200 tons. Performed crane studies to select appropriate cranes for lift parameters. Performed audits to monitored compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and Department of Energy regulations. Reported to upper management and Department of Energy representatives on progress, safety and job improvement strategies. Industrial Relations Specialist, (2000 to 2004)Served as primary contact with the Greater Cincinnati Building & Construction Trades Council (GCBCTC) for key contract negotiation and contract administration for the Human Recourses Department. Key Achievements at Fluor Fernald:• Effectively coordinated planning, site preparation, and direct oversight of execution of a 200 ton 2 crane pick, carry and set that won the International Crane Magazine “Lift of the Year Award” in 2002.• Maintained good working relationship with represented employees and their representatives.• Provided leadership for crews of 5 to 180 union craft personnel and supervisors. • Established new sub-contractor hoisting and rigging safety standards for the Fernald Closure Project.• Facilitated training on rigging safety, job hazards, equipment operations, and other safety related issues.• Chaired and served on several accident investigation committees.
