  • Artinsoft
    Vp Of Sales
    Artinsoft Feb 2001 - 2003
    Sammamish, Wa, Us
ArtinSoft had licensed it's technology to Microsoft and received VC investment by Microsoft and Intel Corporation. I was in charge of building a small sales team for USA and Europe. Opened offices in California, New York, Dallas, and London, England. The only migrator owned by ArtinSoft at that time was from i4GL to Java. Ramped up sales from 0 to $1.4 million in sales/ year with key accounts such as AT&T. (Building the first sales without a track record is challenging, but my specialty.) IBM acquired Informix and promised long-term support of i4GL instead of promoting Java migrations. Sales slumped, and ArtinSoft began developing additional migrators.
  • Speedsys, Inc.
    Founder And Ceo
    Speedsys, Inc. Aug 1999 - Dec 2000
SpeedSys, a startup focused in the "Web 3.0" market when it was very young. Specifically focused on the content management market and personalization space. "Personalization" refers to delivering customized web page depending on a visitor's buying patterns on a website and profile. The app was named "APT" - Advanced Personalization Technology. A Java-based server side app with Java-Swing front-end.Reached beta testing with huge volume websites in Costa Rica, but when the dot com bubble burst, corporations would not consider a start-up application. The company could have continued as a consulting firm, ArtinSoft purchased assets and hired programmers, and SpeedSys did not continue it's software development. (Lesson: You didn't have to be a dot com to crash...and be one of the first in your category instead of finding a unique niche.)
  • Artinsoft
    Ceo
    Artinsoft Dec 1998 - Jun 1999
    Sammamish, Wa, Us
Board of Directors of ArtinSoft hired me as CEO for a six month contract to help the company focus on a product strategy, and self-fund development. Reorganized the company into two division - one focused on the CRM market in Latin America, and the other on software migrations. The CRM app called TPM, was later spun off as a separate company. ArtinSoft licensed the software migration technology to Microsoft the following year and grew the company into a leadership position. Tom Button is the current CEO of ArtinSoft, now renamed Mobilize.NET.
