I'm a central region refugee adjudicator/judge. I preside over proceedings concerning refugee matters.

I was part of the secretariat for the federal steering committee on Policy and Coordination of Section 35 rights, which strived for a coherent, whole-of-government approach to the recognition and implementation of Indigenous rights. This was my first “permanent” government job. I played a leadership role in the design and implementation of Youth Employment Opportunity, a pilot project that provided at-risk youth in the NCR and GTA with work experience and skills development. I designed and delivered workshops, organized events (i.e., job fairs, onboarding programs), and supported client managers and participants. My favorite project to date. I conducted research for on-reserve education (K-12), developed an engagement strategy to support provincial/territorial governments with education curricula that reflects Indigenous peoples and experiences, and supported the monitoring of federal progress on the Seven Youth Inquest Recommendation report card.

I supported the lead in coordinating the Deputy Minister's Aboriginal Workforce Initiative, a departmental steering committee, to strengthen Indigenous recruitment, development, and retention.
