I am a Web Developer, mainly focusing on front-end development, but I have been working on shifting that focus to full-stack development. I completed a Full-Stack Web Development coding bootcamp at the University of Birmingham in 2021; I chose to learn web development as I have always loved technology and, having grown up spending a lot of time on the internet and being thoroughly entertained by what it had to offer, decided that learning how websites were developed would be exciting and insightful skillset to have.Originally, I struggled a lot with higher education and deciding on a career path, quickly realising that I wasn't suited to a highly structured, theory-driven environment for learning and that instead I responded much better to a more hands on "break it, then fix it" approach to learning. So I decided I decided I would just try to self-teach the basics of anything that interested me and see where that took me. Eventually that led me to programming and, whilst I was teaching myself to use Python, I came across a Full-Stack Web Development coding bootcamp which promised to be a very practical course in learning the core principles and ideas behind full-stack development and I haven't looked back since.My interests include reading, solving puzzles, and watercolour painting. I'm always looking for book recommendations (my favourite genres are fantasy, sci-fi and horror but I will read any genre if it sounds interesting enough). I've loved puzzles ever since I was young, personally I don't think there is a greater feeling than finally cracking the solution to a puzzle after days of being unable to. The watercolour painting is the most recent of my interests, I have always loved drawing and painting but didn't really start to explore watercolour in any depth until the pandemic, and since then it's been something I do at least once a week.If you would like to talk, please contact me at devcats@proton.me.
