I'm much more than just your average college student.As a first-generation college student, I have always paved the way and been a pioneer for those who look up to me. I am a natural-born leader and I have found much success being put into leadership positions. Throughout my high school career, I was heavily involved in student leadership and I was able to become the first colored Student Body President at Spanish Springs High School. Throughout my four years in high school, I was also apart of a college preparatory program called Upward Bound. Not only did I participate in countless professional development workshops, but the program also allowed me to volunteer at countless different organizations. From the JDRF One Walk, helping at The Boys and Girls Club, and even helping the Nevada Food Bank with countless food drives. My leadership, volunteer, and professional skills are many and very versatile for all kinds of situations.When it comes to my work experience I am currently a teacher's assistant for Alice Maxwell Elementary where I am mainly apart of the afterschool TEAM-UP program. We focus on elevating our student's knowledge and test scores while creating a very close and beneficial learning community. Before I was a teacher's assistant I was a cashier and lot associate for close to a year at The Home Depot. With my time at The Home Depot, I earned two homer awards for adding company value and providing superior customer service. I was trained in many areas of retail from simply counting money, to training new candidates for my job. I had a pleasant time at The Home Depot, but my goals and ambitions resided elsewhere. When it comes to business ventures I am currently studying and training to hopefully have my own real estate business.
