In this role, my particular focus is on ensuring researchers in the department are supported to generate impact from their research. I lead an international research consortium called Menarche, Menstruation, Menopause and Mental Health (4M). Our vision is to help create a world in which women's reproductive health is not a barrier to mental health. We do this by facilitating interdisciplinary research into the biological, psychological, social and environmental mechanisms that link reproductive and mental health, and treatments and interventions to improve those links. To establish the consortium, I devised the idea and then… Show more I lead an international research consortium called Menarche, Menstruation, Menopause and Mental Health (4M). Our vision is to help create a world in which women's reproductive health is not a barrier to mental health. We do this by facilitating interdisciplinary research into the biological, psychological, social and environmental mechanisms that link reproductive and mental health, and treatments and interventions to improve those links. To establish the consortium, I devised the idea and then approached several academics from different Universities to join the initial team. I led successful applications for funding, which I used to develop a series of highly generative collaborative hybrid workshops. Through liaising with stakeholders, we established a series of research themes and priorities. I've since co-ordinated and hosted a monthly online meeting as well as in-person seminars and writing retreats to facilitate networking and collaborative working. 4M has developed several grant applications to major funders, including the UKRI.
