I handled basic courses on bioinformatics and graduate level genetics (team teaching).

Working at the biotechnology institute, I wrote and was awarded a research grant on the production of biodegradable plastic from bacteria and isolated a number of promising bacteria from soils. Then another grant was awarded on utilizing the bacterial isolates for removing nitrates from waste waters.I also worked on vitamin B12 and dextran biotechnological production using bacteria and studied how to improve the nutritive value of coconut protein isolates and residues.

Worked as a microbiologist and successfully isolated, characterized and tested a local strain of streptomycin-producing Streptoverticillium mashuense. I also worked on nitrogen-fixing bacteria and tested a number of rhizobia isolates on different nitrogen-fixing plants.
