First Legal Hire and General Counsel tasked with building full spectrum Legal Department. Spearhead coordination with executives, teams, and colleagues across business divisions to achieve company objectives. Report directly to CEO, collaborate with co-executives and teams across HR, operations, sales/marketing, procurement, and finance to support company growth and performance. • CONTRACTS: Leveraging extensive and deep experience contracting, personally handling and managing high-volume, highly-complex contracts across all business units and concerns in both directions (provider or receiver of services, IP, product, 3PLs, CMs, etc.). Sole Legal partner to stakeholders and their function(s) (sales/marketing; contract manufacturing; Operations; 3PLs; Procurement; SaaS; Real Estate; HR; licensing; etc.).• RISK: Own and manage all Risk concerns - litigation activities, balancing risk avoidance with aggressive growth strategy, oversee external counsel as needed (budgeting; "rules of engagement"). • POLICIES; TRAINING; PROCESS(ES): Develop, implement, and own global policies and processes for contracts, M&A, IP, HR, Training, among other critical areas.• PARTNER TO THE BUSINESS: Collaborate with teams in commercial and retail sales, engineering, procurement, finance, operations, supply chain, and other groups to engage stakeholders and drive business growth.• BEYOND LEGAL - SHARED SERVICES: Serve and support "Shared Services" function, including but not limited to Legal, IT, Real Estate, HR, Security, Operations, Procurement.• COMPLIANCE: Ensure legal and technical compliance in areas such as government restrictions and regulations; data privacy (GDPR; etc.); HR; and beyond.• SYSTEMS AND TOOLS: As both owner of Legal and IT functions, oversee selection, deployment and management of critical tools and applications related to AI-driven Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse; Reporting; Predictive) and which serve company (eg, EDI).
