For 16 years PathoFinder/PathoNostics has been where I have worked with great pleasure, been challenged in various functions, and have grown as a professional. I played a key role in the development of many molecular diagnostic products, and their successful launch onto the market. It is now time for the next step in my career, where I will start my own business. I started in 2011 at PathoNostics, as a spin-off from PathoFinder, and I was granted the opportunity to build that new business. In this position I experienced being an ‘entrepreneur’ and I created the grounds that the company stands on today. I personally invented the company's proprietary technology platform which is currently used in all PathoNostics assays. It enables simultaneous detection of fungal species and resistance markers using an distinctive melting curve analysis approach. I was responsible for writing the applications and obtaining grants to fund the development of the technique in the majority of cases. The IVD products; AsperGenius® (2014), DermaGenius® (2016), PneumoGenius® (2017) and MucorGenius® (2018) were subsequently launched onto the market.Initially I started as a scientist at PathoFinder were we built up the company's technology platform and developed comprehensive multiplex PCR panel tests for infectious diseases. PathoFinder is an established company providing assays for respiratory tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, gastro-enteritis, meningitis etc. I made the switch in 2011 to PathoNostics, but I was involved in management tasks, quality assessment and business activities for the mother company. Since February 2020 I was responsible for COVID-19 business and global sales of the SARS-CoV-2 PCR kits within PathoFinder.
