The initial scope of this position was the design and construction of an enterprise-class data warehouse to serve two purposes: consolidate disparate reporting data sources to arrive at a "single version of truth", and establish a direct link between customers and sales data in order to provide insights into customer behavior. This latter aspect led to the design and implementation of a campaign management system to manage direct- and e-mail campaigns - the CMS was designed to work with data warehouse data to support the customer segmentation that determined campaign effort recipients. This also involved creating analytical work product (models, charts and graphs, and full-blown analysis reports) used by client departments to evaluate the contact pool and to measure campaign response.• Designed the data warehouse using dimensional modeling techniques and installed physical schema in PostgreSQL• Implemented ETL to populate data warehouse (both initial load and daily updates) using Pentaho Data Integration• Designed and implemented Campaign Management System schema and installed in PostgreSQL. Operated the ``headless'' version while waiting on application development• Wrote specification for the CMS application, directed Armenian engineering team during buildout• Performed analysis of customer behavior mainly for direct/email marketing; developed RFM, Markov-chain-based LTV, and customer/donor cluster models in R• Provided technical and project direction to Armenian team (4 engineers); tutored all BI team members in various techniques (Pentaho, SQL, R); spearheaded the establishment of a Big Data practice in our Armenian office, specified demo/training projects in Spark, Mahout, Kafka and Neo4J that later evolved into production applications.• Developed SQL functions and type structures in PostgreSQL / PostGIS to facilitate standardizing and geocoding of mailing addresses
