Florida native that served in US Navy from 1975-1986 and graduated from University of Florida in 1986 with a BS in Geology. Started professional career as geotechnical field geologist with Soil & Material Engineers, then on to PIECO and Metcalf & Eddy, before starting Gator Environmental, Inc. (1993-2001). Became licensed as a Professional Geologist, Building Contractor, and Pollutant Storage Systems Contractor in 1994 and then sold to Soil & Material Engineers in 2001. Continued with S&ME to build geotechnical department then to MACTEC before starting Gator Engineering & Aquifer Restoration, Inc. (GEAR) in 2007. GEAR provides Professional Geology and Professional Engineering services ranging from Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Remediation, Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing, and A-E Design and Design-Build focusing on water delivery systems and building infrastructures. Verified as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business by the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2007. In 2020, Northrup Grumman honored GEAR with the Supplier of the Year Award for Environmental Services associated with the Space Coast industry.Mr. Wilson was honored to receive the Orlando Business Journal's (OBJ) 2014 Veterans of Influence inaugural award presented in 2015 for leadership and community service. In 2018, Mr. Wilson received the 2017 Industry Government Engagement (IGE) Medal from the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). The IGE award recognized Mr. Wilson's tenacious pursuit to eliminate the Small Business Administration's (SBA) self-representation criteria to qualify for contracts as a disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB). The set-aside contracts are intended for verifiable SDVOSBs. In 2018, GEAR was presented with the 2017 Environmental Business Journal's Gold Award for Business Achievement.
