Head of the Department of Technology Enhanced Learning at the Munster Technological University, Ireland, with responsibility for developing and managing a range of online and blended mode programmes, promoting research into the enhancement of teaching and learning through technology, and supporting the mainstream use of technology enhanced learning across the university. Over a 25-year career in the area, I have participated in and led out on an extensive range of EU-funded and commercial elearning and technology enhanced learning projects and have also published and presented on an array of related topics relating to the integration of e-learning systems in higher education, open educational resources (OER), online assessment, the pedagogy of online learning, learning transfer, and game-based learning. I chair the MTU Ed Tech and E-learning research group (https://tel.cit.ie/edtech-and-elearning-research-group/overview) and am the the course director for the university's online MA in E-learning Design and Development (http://tel.cit.ie/ma-in-e-learning).
