About Ivan Sarabia Martinez
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer I have been involved in mechanical transmission projects in disparate sectors like Wind Energy, Industrial and Machine Tool, for 17 years. For he last 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work at G.E.T. (Gamesa Energy Transmission), now Siemens-Gamesa, where I started as a Calculation Engineer highly qualified in gear technologies, and was promoted to Analysis and Calculation Section Manager leading a 5-person team. G.E.T. managed the complete life cycle of windturbine and industrial gearboxes. Therefore, it was necessary to maintain close collaboration with other departments, especially with Manufacturing and Quality Control Engineering, to reach the company's goals. My deep knowledge of the product, as well as my approachability and ability to build relationships, made it easier to achieve a productive cooperation. In addition, my organization skills and goal orientation were very valuable in managing the calculation resources demanded from different platforms.Since the year 2015 I have complemented my professional career with teaching, working together with the Swiss company KISSsoft, world leader in the development of software to design gear transmissions, on teaching courses on gear theory, design of mechanical transmissions and KISSsoft/KISSsys software operation. In addition, I have provided technical support to KISSsoft users in Spain.Based on the contacts established with companies from different sectors I have noticed that my experience, mainly in the development of windturbine gearboxes, could be transferred in a very beneficial way to other companies.As a result of this, I have decided to start a new professional stage as a Gear Transmission Consultant, under the trade name of Gear Transmission Solutions (see web page for detailed information on Course offerings and Services).
