Gary Brant is a seasoned healthcare, high tech, automotive and energy industrialist, having begun his business career as founder and CEO for over twenty-seven years of the biometric security firm VeriTouch Ltd. Brant invented the world's first biometric smartcard terminal, and patented its application in onlinebanking for Bank of America in 1997, and for protecting patient privacy for Cerner Corporation, Novartis and the Ontario, Canada Ministry of Health in a technology partnership with Motorola Corporation. The VeriTouch Biometric Patient login system was first used at Kingston GeneralHospital in Canada in 1998 and later by Cerner Corporation as part of its HNA Millenium revolutionary electronic health record (EHR). Brant worked with Samsung in Seoul, South Korea to integrate VeriTouch's fingerprint scanner into their smartphones, another world first. Samsung embedded the VeriTouch pioneered fingerprint technology into billions of smartphones since the early 2000s. Every time you authenticate an app or your bank or brokerage account with your smartphone using your fingerprint scan, that invention was pioneered by Brant. In Thailand, with partner Hyundai, for the Thai government Brant invented the first cross-border immigration system using VeriTouch's patented fingerprint scan station. The same system was purchased by Olympus Optical Co. of Japan for a National ID Card Project for the Government of Brazil in 1999 which utilized Brant's invention, the VeriTouch MFS-1 (Multi-Finger Scanner) which scanned all fingerprints of registered citizens within two seconds.
