Among the highlights as a Junior Engineer, developed a detailed project for the execution of a dam safety berm, which was successfully implemented in 2021. Over this period, improved skills in preparing and reviewing project documentation, such as Technical Specifications, Descriptive Memorials, Bills of Quantities, and various Drawings. Additionally, prepared operational guidelines and adapted the Operation Manual of a geotechnical structure to include tailings dry backfill activities. Led a Master Plan for tailings disposal for a mining company for the next 10 years and a Conceptual Closure Plan for two dams. Led a HAZOP Risk Analysis of a feasibility Closure design of a dry stack. Also developed two-dimensional and three-dimensional numerical analyses to determine angle of repose and breach formation, respectively, associated with dam break studies. Lastly, performed advanced numerical analyses of soil-climate interaction to evaluate the performance of cover systems for a filtered residue stack Closure design.

After being hired as a Trainee, spent three months in Pará, Brazil to monitor field trials associated with a filtered residue stack project in the alumina industry, in addition to making occasional visits as part of an Field Assisted Operation (ATO) of the same stack after its commissioning. Also, established threshold levels for geotechnical structures' instrumentation and developed advanced numerical analyses, reviewing a numerical model of a filtered tailings pile that simulates pore pressure generation during its construction through coupled flow and stress-strain analysis. Finally, prepared "as-built" documentation of a geotechnical structure.

As an intern, provided assistance to engineers in the activities of developing geotechnical engineering projects, such as creating bills of quantities, determining geotechnical parameters from field and lab test data, conducting stability analyses, and generating reports on geotechnical instrumentation evaluation. Developed spreadsheets for monitoring geotechnical instrumentation, compaction control, and verification of asphalt layer thickness to be applied depending on traffic and subgrade conditions, and was part of the company's Quality Group (GQ), aimed at meeting ISO9001 requirements in all projects, among other activities.
