Responsible for redesign and implementation of main satellite video distribution client. System comprised of a VB6 client used to decrypt satellite videos and an ASP web application used for browsing videos and scripts.Lead developer on system designed to process 1.5 million images. Main tasks involved requirements gathering, design and implementation in C#. Application extracted JPEGs from a central binary file and populated IPTC headers stored in XML.Extended existing XML transformation application using C++ and XSLT to handle non-standard NewsML.Designed and wrote specification for permissioning system for content distribution network. Implemented system with two other team members using Java, Struts, JSPs and SQL Server 2005.Heavily involved in design and implementation of global editorial system. Initial work involved design, documentation and development of toolbar used for communication between applications.Later moved to server team to develop Java web services to be consumed by the client. The EJBs also communicated with Documentum to store editorial stories in NewsML.Implemented a web-based change management and project tracking system to be used within editorial using ASPs with an Access database.

Developer/Team leader responsible for the delivery of web content using ASPs combined with Flash. Also created content using multimedia mark-up language based on XML called SMIL used to format streaming audio and video information.Sole developer in charge of implementing an application used to create and edit a proprietary file format to be delivered to wireless devices. This project involved writing low-level functions in VB for file manipulation and using windows graphics API calls to allow files to be previewed on a wireless device.
