I am a vastly experienced trader who has led proprietary desks at top investment banks, set up and co-led hedge funds and generated consistent profits in every type of market in the post Big Bang era. As a portfolio manager I build highly effective risk reward strategies based on qualitative assessment of global markets combined with specific opportunities in relative value. My knowledge of fixed income and foreign exchange markets stems from more than 25 years'​ experience, and I have worked closely with credit, equity and commodities traders to develop diversified strategies across assets and geographies, designed to profit from perceived evolutions in macro economics and market sentiment.As a leader of successful teams, I have trained and developed junior staff and brought rigour and discipline to trading organisations. I am open and collaborative, happy to share opinions and ideas with colleagues to establish and refine investment ideas.Following a degree in Banking and International Finance at CASS Business School, I started out as a trader in gilts with Midland Montagu and quickly progressed top trading the back book across fixed income and foreign exchange markets. I then moved to Salomon Brothers, where I rose to Head of their Proprietary Trading Desk. I continued to generate substantial revenues in prop trading for the next decade before launching a hedge fund with colleagues in 2003.
