Develop Web and Service-based database applications with MySQL, PHP, and Perl. Setup and Administered Apache, Mysql, PHP, Postfix, Dovecot, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, AMANDA Network Backups, Network File Sharing, IDL, and license services. Administer Network infrastructure and server/workstation hardware. Provide cross platform technical support for both on-site and remote personnel. Accomplishments Include:Designed, created, and implemented Image Database and web interface to aid in Image Processing and Scientific activities. Mysql database with a PHP Web-based front-end. Designed Mysql Database and converted our public website, http://www.ciclops.org, from a static to a dynamic interactive site.Rebuilt and maintain 4 VLAN-based subnet network with a combination of NAT and Masquerading through an Astaro Secure Gateway appliance. Planned, setup and configured VMWare server running 6 virtual machines. Migrated services from standalone servers to virtual machines. Integrated Amazon S3 services into our public website for multimedia hosting.Hardware budget forecasting, purchasing and service agreement management Provided extensive system documentation via Mediawiki document engine.

Administered Apache-Tomcat and Oracle Application Servers running HP-UX, Solaris, and Red-Hat Linux.Accomplishments Include:Stabilized Oracle Application Server cluster and created monitoring scripts and programs for their administration using Bourne-Shell and Perl Scripts.Configured and deployed clustered Apache-Tomcat servers and created Perl-based Site monitoring.Designed documentation framework and templates for IT run book and procedures.Created IT support website. Site included a phone list utility written in PHP that accessed our Exchange server using LDAP.Developed a site-wide archive management daemon that would rotate, archive, or clear log files. The program was written in Perl and used an XML configuration file.

Perl and Mod_Perl Programming for cellular and handheld internet devices.

Division: Operations Research and EffectivenessPerl/CGI development with some administration of Netscape Enterprise Servers. Accomplishments Include:Learned Perl and Java quickly and was programming in both within weeks of being introduced to them.Developed the Product Qualification Prototype designed for marketing VDSL in Denver and Phoenix. This includes all of the support documentation and the development of test matrices for each release. Web application written in Perl and run on Netscape Enterprise Server.Helped with requirement documents and system development planning.Aided in the development of high volume Web-based report generation and data extraction for the XDSL project.

Division: Coretech Administration of Network Appliance file servers, Solaris Applications, and Operating Systems. Accomplishments Include:Developed and administered our Unix Support staff web site that contained tools to aid in common administration tasks. Site was hosted on Apache and was built using HTML and Unix Shell scripts.Developed Shell scripts for use in both Jumpstart OS installations and from the command line that automates the installation of patches, applications, and system configurations.Setup centralized application pool for all platforms of Solaris.

Installation of OS and hardware for Hewlett Packard Engineering groups.Accomplishments Include:Helped with process improvement to speed up the setup and delivery of UNIX workstations. Worked with other IT specialists to create consistent procedures to ensure easier troubleshooting. Worked full-time through the summer and part-time while in school.

Client: Hewlett PackardSoftware and Hardware troubleshooting and configuration management of HPUX and Solaris Workstations.Accomplishments Include:Maintained and supported established systems and performed routine systems administration tasks such as performance tuning and user account management. Learned Unix and HP-UX in a short time frame. Was troubleshooting problems after only a week of exposure.Worked full-time over the summer and part-time while in school.

Client: Hewlett Packard Tested Hewlett Packard's Scanjet scanners with Windows 3.1, Windows 95 Beta, and Macintosh. Also tested TWAIN and OLE capabilities with HP scanning software and popular graphics and office software packages.Accomplishments Include:Helped develop testing metrics and procedures, including use cases, to more effectively work the bugs out of the product lines.Worked part-time while in school in 1994 and full-time in 1995.
