I began working as a coder coding COVID immunizations and swabs. After three months, I accepted a HCC coding position within the company. After my CPC-A certification, I began risk adjustment coding full time. Currently, I am working with six Medicare Advantage insurance companies. I have monthly meetings with them where we review our performance to see if we are meeting our goal. On a daily basis, I pull an appointment list for two days before and work the list for each insurance company. I am using condition reports sent by the insurance companies to add suspect conditions to their future appointments. Along with the insurance reports, I am looking at every consult note from 18 months ago to present, medication lists, and hospital discharge notes to try and capture any conditions that adjust to risk. I look at my patients problem list and make sure each condition is coded and assessed to the highest level of specificity.

Over time, I took on more responsibilities which included billing, invoicing, inventory control and logistics.
