Starting from a firm foundation of technical background I built up about 20 years of working experience and expertise in the domains of system integration and management, both in classic IT (OS, DB, App) as in Telecom (PBX, ACD, multimedia contact center, Voip, Unified Communication). Now I use this knowledge to teach future bachelors the fundamentals of system and network management.

Presales, implementation and support of Lync and Skype for Business environments with several add ons as Audiocodes and Polycom devices.

As KPN sold the Newtel Essence bussiness to Nextel NV, I started on April 24, 2015 working for this energetic company with a mission: "You're always one step ahead!"

At the KdG I had the task and challenge to teach ad interim in the 3th quarter of the 1st year of a 4 year curricullum Bachelor ICT students the basics of ICT networking in practical sessions for 2 evenings per week. This course is partial based on the CCNA course of CISCO.It was a great opportunity for me to discover my teaching talents using some knowledge I gained through the past 25 years.In May and June 2015 I have been asked again to fill a gap (due to illness). Another course : Databases. (for 1 evening per week)

Newtel Essence is a small Belgian company specialized in Contact Center Technology and owned by the Dutch Telecom provider KPN. I started as service engineer for Avaya based systems on the Belgian market, mainly for big players in the financial sector.In 2012 my focus changed to the Microsoft Lync platform. I got myself trained and certified for MS Lync 2010, and AudioCodes Mediant,After a big Belgian project I was mainly active in the Netherlands for KPN customers in the midsize and large enterprise segment on the Unified Communication platform of MS Lync.My task was to deliver the sold solutions and upgrades within the planned timeframes and budget by creating a detailed technical design and executing the installation and rollout. I got certified for MS Lync 2013 and in combination with my certification as Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA 2012) , I reached the level Microsoft Certified System Expert in Communication (MCSE). As a good team member I also always did my part in the maintenance and service activities.In January 2015 I left the KPN team and rejoined the team in Vilvoorde.In April 2015 KPN sold the Newtel Essence business to Nextel NV.

At Digipolis, ICT provider for the city of Antwerp, I worked 5 months in a team with a broad range on operational tasks on DBA, Sharepoint, backup/restore and legacy application support.

For more then 7 years I worked for the Technology Team at EDS in Antwerp and Mechelen as system administrator. This team was initially responsible for the telecom and PC/server environment of the Belgian contact center. During the years the scope enlarged to 15 sites all over EMEA, more then 50 Windows servers and a clustered multimedia (voice,VM, fax, email) ACD platform with a clustered and distributed DB. Also the team became virtual and spread all over EMEA. I developed to a key player in the team by taking the lead in several transition projects, having a coaching attitude towards new team members and taking up responsibilities. The last 10 months I worked as system analyst for the customer 'Vlaamse Overheid' in Brussels on a project Vlaams Fiscaal Platform to transform data from legacy databases to the new system by using Oracle PL/SQL and Data Warehouse Builder. This project ended during the first big staff reduction after the acquisition of EDS by HP. This caused my unvolontary leave at EDS.

At Cheops Technology I started my IT carreer at the Sales department for the booming Wintel server market, PCs, printers and other peripherals. The complete sales cycle was my daily working domain. In 1998 I moved to another side of the company and became system and support engineer. To deepen my knowledge I followed some courses and got myself certified as MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) for Windows NT4.0 plus MS Exchange 5.5. I also followed some courses for HP Printing Technologies, CISCO CCNA and HP Open View.I also have been outsourced twice for several months.
